Myntra has announced a new sneaker brand Comet, making Comet’s e-commerce debut and expanding its collections.
Comet, a culture-first sneaker brand renowned for its unique design, was launched today by Myntra, India's top fashion, beauty, and lifestyle destination. With this partnership, Comet launches its online store, making the collection available to Myntra's 75 million monthly active users and strengthening the company's attractive selection of sneakers that appeal to Gen Z and millennial consumers.
Comet has taken a product-first approach to brand building, including in-house design and development. Comet's debut on Myntra features a handpicked selection of 40 plus designs, including its most popular shoe types, the X Lows, Aeon V2, and Alter. To celebrate the debut, Comet has introduced the X Lows Polaris, which will be exclusive only to Myntra customers.
Ritesh Mishra, Myntra’s Head of Category and Revenue commented on the e-commerce debut of Comet, saying that Comet has distinguished itself through a sharp design language and a deep-rooted community connection that resonates with the trend-forward shopper. According to him, the brand’s launch on Myntra aligns with their focus on offering trend-forward, culture-first brands that resonate with India’s new-age customers. With additions like Comet, they continue to strengthen their portfolio of brands that play a role in shaping India’s contemporary sneaker culture.
Speaking on the partnership with Myntra, Utkarsh Gupta and Dishant Daryani, Comet’s co-founders, said that Myntra has consistently shown that they understand the brands they partner with. At Comet, every decision has been shaped by staying close to their customers, and that foundation remains unchanged as they grow. And launching on Myntra allows Comet to scale that belief to a wider audience.
Comet opened its first-ever store in Hyderabad and is intended to be a place to live rather than just a place to shop. The large façade of the store creates a striking first impression and every angle of the store has been designed to attract guests into an area that is raw, vibrant, and clearly Comet. The store's interior has dramatic architectural moments that evoke the concept of a comet impact, sculptural surfaces, tactile textures, and the brand's disruptive design language. Comet is creating a culture based on originality and innovation rather than only selling shoes.
