Red Hat deepens its alliance with NVIDIA to deliver Day-0, open-source-driven AI infrastructure optimized for the NVIDIA Rubin platform, accelerating enterprise AI production.
Today, Red Hat, the world's top supplier of open-source solutions, announced a historic extension of its partnership with NVIDIA to match enterprise open-source technology to the speed at which rack-scale AI and enterprise AI are developing. With Red Hat Enterprise Linux for NVIDIA, a customized version of the world's top enterprise Linux platform that is tuned to drive future production on Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat AI and optimized for the NVIDIA Rubin platform, Red Hat hopes to provide the foundation for the industry's transition away from individual servers and toward unified, high-density systems.
Red Hat's president and CEO, Matt Hicks, claims that NVIDIA's architectural innovations have made AI essential, demonstrating that the computing stack will determine the future of the sector. Red Hat and NVIDIA hope to offer Day 0 support for the newest NVIDIA architectures throughout Red Hat's hybrid cloud and AI portfolios in order to address these seismic upheavals at launch. Together, they are using the potential of open source to power the next generation of enterprise AI.
Red Hat's industrial-strength open-source software transformed enterprise computing, according to Jensen Huang, creator and CEO of NVIDIA. The entire computer stack, from chips and systems to middleware, models, and the AI lifecycle, is being completely redesigned in the era of artificial intelligence. Starting with the Vera Rubin platform, NVIDIA and Red Hat are industrializing open source to provide AI to businesses.
With top-down approaches and centralized AI toolboxes that include AI agents and other advancements, many firms are ready to transition AI from experimental to production by 2026. However, from the fundamental architecture to the software that runs on top of it, this change necessitates a robust, high-performance, and more secure infrastructure stack. The NVIDIA Rubin platform, which includes the cutting-edge NVIDIA Rubin GPUs and the new NVIDIA Vera CPU, is intended to provide a significant advancement in intelligence for advanced reasoning and agentic AI. Red Hat plans to enable organizations to scale their AI initiatives more confidently with enterprise-grade reliability and a consistent operational model across the hybrid cloud by optimizing its hybrid cloud portfolio for NVIDIA's innovations, beginning with Day 0 support for this new platform.
