Ohsung GAUSS MT90 Debuts at CES

The CES Innovation Award–honored GAUSS MT90 uses paste-based extrusion to simplify and lower the cost of metal additive manufacturing.

South Korea–based Ohsung System Co., Ltd. officially exhibited and launched its GAUSS MT90 paste metal 3D printer at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, signaling a move toward safer and more accessible metal additive manufacturing for desktop environments. MetalPrinting participated in the project as a technology partner supporting the system’s development.

The GAUSS MT90 is built around Paste-based Metal Extrusion (PME) technology, offering an alternative to conventional industrial metal 3D printing systems that rely on high-power lasers or loose metal powders. By combining metal powder with a binder to form an extrudable paste that is deposited layer by layer at room temperature, the process significantly reduces dust, fire, and explosion risks. This approach allows the system to operate in standard office, laboratory, and research settings.

The compact system, which received a CES 2026 Innovation Award under Ohsung System Co., Ltd.’s name according to the official CES listing, is designed for desktop-scale metal part production. It features a build volume of approximately 85 × 85 × 60 mm, a machine footprint of 420 × 420 × 500 mm, and a total weight of around 30 kg.

User-oriented features of the GAUSS MT90 include 30 cc metal paste cartridges, a 7-inch touchscreen interface, AI camera monitoring, and a HEPA plus carbon filtration system to support clean operation. The printer supports a range of materials using proprietary “GaussInk” metal paste formulations, including stainless steel, copper, titanium, nickel, iron, aluminum, and tungsten, with customized material formulations available upon request.

The system is positioned for applications such as functional prototyping, heat sinks, porous structures, micro-mechanical components, and research use cases where flexibility, safety, and ease of operation are priorities. It is not intended for the production of large structural metal parts.

Pricing details for the GAUSS MT90 have not been publicly disclosed. Interested customers are encouraged to contact Ohsung System Co., Ltd. directly for quotations. While total cost of ownership will vary depending on application and post-processing requirements, industry observers suggest that metal paste cartridges could be priced starting at approximately USD 150, potentially lowering operating costs compared with conventional metal additive manufacturing feedstocks.
