NCERT and IIT-Madras partnered to promote NEP 2020's educational target by AI and ML.
A Memorandum of Understanding was approved by the National Council of Educational Research and Training and the Indian Institute of Technology in Chennai. This partnership aims to promote joint research on creative technology in the field education. It uses modern technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning to promote opportuneness, diversity, and high standards across the educational ecosystem, according to institutional authorities.
School Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar stated that the idea and intentions of the new National Education Policy (NEP) and the new National Curriculum Structure depend on this effort. To encourage education in the mother tongue of the students, all of the books must be digitized and available in the 22 listed languages.
One of the IT champions was IIT-M, and a growing quantity of content needs to be created in the areas of gaming, animation, videography, and virtual reality. Also, it is necessary to start Personalized Adaptive Learning (PAL). To help the development and implementation of instruction and analyses using AI tools and focused on new abilities, efficient pedagogical and technological devices must be created. NCERT chairman Dinesh Saklani specified that this partnership is an important step toward NEP 2020's goal of using technology to develop inclusive and accessible education.
The NCERT and IIT-M partnership focuses on important areas like the growth of accessible and international educational resources, combining technology and AI/ML-enabled education methods, collaborative study, creation and distribution of premium educational content, ongoing professional growth for educators, big data management and analytics, and continuous professional development of educators.
