Meghan Markle’s new brand, As Ever, sold out within an hour of launch, sparking claims of a clever marketing tactic.
Meghan Markle's new lifestyle brand's first product line sold out in a matter of minutes, but an insider has suggested that her success may have been due to a cunning marketing strategy.
The 43-year-old Duchess of Sussex launched her own company, As Ever, in the US overnight. Her company sells eight items, such as $22 raspberry jam, $24 floral sprinkles, and $45 honey.
Meghan took to her Instagram to thank all her followers for purchasing her product. She stated that although the store is empty, their heart is full. Further, she added that she is so grateful to everyone who celebrated, bought, shared, and believed in them. Along with informing that they sold out in an hour and it is only the beginning.
According to an industry insider quoted in a Telegraph investigation, the products were introduced in small amounts and promptly marked as sold out to generate interest—a regular marketing strategy.
In a social media post, Meghan herself alluded to the exclusivity by highlighting the fact that there would only be a limited number of each seasonal collection.
Together with Meghan's cookery show, With Love, Meghan, which made its Netflix debut in March, As Ever, then known as American Riviera Orchard, was also funded by the streaming service.
Netflix revealed that Meghan's cookery series had been renewed for a second season, which has already finished filming, even though it had received negative reviews on the video.
