Inflexion Games' Nightingale devs plans to evaluate the current status of the game, along with the future direction the studio plans to take their gaslamp fantasy survival game.
Inflexion was uncharacteristically candid in their evaluation. Chief Executive Officer Aaron Flynn and Director of Art and Audio Neil Thomson expressed their dissatisfaction with the state of the game, the general atmosphere, and player counts.
The video is commendable for its honesty, even with its rather awkward vibe (it seemed like the two creators were expecting to be chastised). Flynn claims that since Nightingale's early access launch in February, the studio has made numerous quality-of-life improvements and included a much-needed singleplayer mode in an effort to improve Nightingale player reception. Nightingale deserves some merit because, although it has an overall Steam rating of "mixed," its most recent reviews have been rated as "mostly positive" as per the latest Nightingale game community feedback.
After implementing those fundamental changes, Inflexion has dedicated the past few months to overhauling the whole gameplay experience. Nightingale's central idea of traveling between several dimensions inside a gaslamp fantasy environment will remain, but Inflexion plans to give those adventures greater structure. According to Thomson, Nightingale has been almost too self-motivated and open-minded when it comes to creating goals. Inflexion is striving to improve player communication by letting them know where they are in the game's progression, what objectives to pursue next, and what they can accomplish along the way.
Flynn expressed his strong confidence that Inflexion is bringing Nightingale up to par with its own standards as he concluded the video. Thomson concurred, stating that Nightingale has been improved by the studio. Later this summer, Inflexion plans to deliver an update with the most recent set of enhancements.
