The first all-digital classroom in the Philippines has officially opened thanks to a partnership between Mapua University and technology company Cisco.
The partnership, which was revealed in September of last year, is to incorporate Cisco's cutting-edge technology solutions into Mapua University's engineering and technology program.
Zaza Soriano-Nicart, managing director of Cisco Philippines, asserts that technology is transforming how we work, study, and live. She continued by saying that they were supporting Mapua University's revolutionary journey to become a premier innovation hub that employs cutting-edge teaching and learning methodologies under Ugnayan 2030.
This program, which is a component of Cisco's Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) strategy in the Philippines, demonstrates the company's dedication to closing the digital gap by enhancing educational technology access.
According to Dr. Dodjie Maestrecampo, president and CEO of Mapúa University, this is a major step toward the institution's goal of promoting digital transformation, sustainable socio-economic growth by means of innovation, and lifelong learning.
The digital classroom concept is backed by Mapua's Tri-X (triple experience) teaching and learning philosophy. With this concept, students can choose synchronous, asynchronous, or in-person instruction for each class. The classroom can accommodate one hundred students, or those who would rather take classes in person.
With the help of ICT solutions integrator Microdata, Cisco's AI-powered collaboration tools and smart cameras will enable safe, interesting, and inclusive hybrid learning environments.
