Arrow Electronics has expanded its partnership with IBM to offer cloud-based data protection across EMEA, helping businesses improve data security while enabling partners to deliver integrated solutions and generate recurring revenue.
Arrow Electronics expands cloud data protection services in partnership with IBM to launch Arrow Cloud Object Storage for Backup, a new service designed to help businesses improve data protection in cloud environments. The solution is now available exclusively to Arrow channel partners across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) through ArrowSphere Cloud.
The move comes as companies face growing pressure to secure business data against cyberattacks, human mistakes and unexpected service disruptions. By extending access to IBM Storage Protect for Cloud, Arrow aims to help partners deliver stronger cloud backup and recovery solutions through a single digital platform.
Stronger focus on cloud security
The deal makes IBM’s cloud-based data protection tool available to more businesses across EMEA. Now, channel partners can include IBM Storage Protect for Cloud in their wider technology packages. This helps customers keep their data safer and more secure while also allowing partners to earn steady, ongoing revenue.
IBM Storage Protect for Cloud is designed to protect critical SaaS data through features such as:
-
Automated backup
-
Granular restore capabilities
-
Protection against cyber threats and accidental data loss
-
Support for modern cloud environments
-
Tools that help businesses meet compliance and security needs
The platform is also API (Application Programming Interface) enabled, allowing seamless integration with ArrowSphere Cloud. This helps partners speed up deployment, simplify operations and improve the customer buying experience.
Why are businesses looking for stronger backup solutions
As more organisations shift to digital-first operations, the risk of data loss has become a major concern. Businesses are increasingly looking for flexible and integrated cloud solutions that can support business continuity while remaining easy to manage.
Mike Worby, Head of Strategic Alliances for Arrow’s enterprise computing solutions business in EMEA, said the expanded agreement reflects changing customer expectations.
He noted that businesses now prefer technology solutions that are flexible, integrated and delivered through streamlined digital platforms. According to Worby, adding IBM Storage Protect for Cloud to ArrowSphere Cloud strengthens Arrow’s portfolio while helping partners scale their businesses faster.
Rose Renck, Vice President and Global Managing Director at IBM, said the collaboration with Arrow will expand the reach of IBM Storage Protect for Cloud across EMEA. She added that the partnership will help channel partners integrate advanced data protection capabilities more easily into customer solutions while offering a more modern digital experience.
Future outlook
According to Business Fortune, the agreement is effective immediately, with IBM Storage Protect for Cloud now available through ArrowSphere Cloud across EMEA. As businesses continue investing in cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity, partnerships like this are expected to play a bigger role in helping organisations manage data securely while supporting long-term digital transformation.
