Adobe has announced free access to its AI tools with training and certifications for Indian students to enhance AI learning, creativity and career skills.
Adobe is offering free access to Photoshop, Acrobat and Firefly AI for students in 15,000 schools and 500 colleges across India. The announcement was made at the India AI Impact Summit, referring to it as a "strategic investment" to help students in becoming innovative and productive using AI.
This initiative was planned under the partnership with government’s Content Creator Labs, aligning with their ‘Create in India’ vision. By 2030, the program hopes to increase employment development in the AVGC industry and develop AI and creative talents.
Shantanu Narayen, chair and chief executive officer of Adobe said that the program will increase creative possibilities in accordance with India's digital aspirations and equip millions of students with Al skills. Adobe claims that its generative AI strategy provides commercially safe AI-generated content and its ability to collaborate with multiple Al models within its apps will be advantageous to students.
Collaborating with FutureSkills, this free access to Adobe software includes a structured curriculum, training modules, and qualifications that are intended to prepare students for first-time employment. Prime and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) will offer industry-ready courses, AI modules, certificates, and hands-on training in areas such as graphic design, animation, marketing, and technology.
In partnership with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Adobe showcased 'Kathāvatār', a series of five AI-generated short films based on Indian folklore at the Summit. The films were premiered at the AI Theatre during the event. Adobe's initiative will be a huge drive for the design and creative dreams of many Indian students who can use this opportunity and start building their AI and editing skills for the future.
