Business Fortune: Adobe Inspires Nigerian Photographers

During the 2025 Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk in Abuja, Mordi encouraged photographers to use art and storytelling to inspire people to take action and raise awareness of social issues.

The founder of Africa Shooters and an Adobe ambassador, Ebuka Mordi, has called on Nigerian photographers and other visual storytellers to use their art to address social issues in order to improve society. In an interview conducted Saturday in Abuja on the fringes of the 2025 Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk, he made the call.

In partnership with the World Trade Center Abuja, Africa Shooters organized the event, which was powered by Adobe Lightroom. In order to take pictures, share ideas, and offer distinctive viewpoints on visual storytelling, it brought together photographers and creatives from all over Nigeria.

Mr. Mordi asserts that photography is a true tool for bringing about social change by employing visual storytelling to record social issues, increase awareness, and stimulate empathy, discussion, and action for an egalitarian society. He claimed that by using striking photographs to draw attention to neglected issues, photographers expose them to a worldwide audience and elicit the necessary change.

In order to change narratives for a better society, he said, photographers have a crucial role to play, and it begins with understanding the significance of photography. Despite the fact that photographers are mostly thought of as cameramen in Nigeria, they have a lot of power to tell their country's stories and shape narratives. They can showcase the inventiveness in Nigeria and throughout Africa by holding this Photowalk in Abuja. Africa Shooters was founded to make sure their stories and voices are heard around the world, and this event marks the start of that process.

Alongside the Photowalk, attendees took part in an Adobe-led activity that included workshops utilizing Lightroom's most recent features, as well as chances for networking, teamwork, and artistic exploration.

Mr. Mordi reiterated that the Abuja edition seeks to draw in brands, investors, art enthusiasts, and communities from around the world by showcasing Nigeria as a center of innovation, culture, and international connections. He claimed that in order to guarantee that young photographers perform their jobs with the highest level of professionalism, capacity building was necessary.
