They are thus evolving into "cheap fakes" that can be produced in large quantities and widely distributed. Threat detection becomes more challenging as a result of this change from high effort to low cost manipulation. Traditional cybersecurity procedures that rely on human inspection and static regulations face an increased difficulty due to the simplicity with which these fakes can be developed and disseminated.
The issue is made worse by the abundance of low-quality knockoffs. False information will proliferate more quickly, and AI-generated content can trick even highly developed biometric authentication systems. The scenario will get considerably more complicated as AI develops.
For instance, sophisticated ransomware will use AI to launch more potent and swifter attacks, and trained AI models will be able to analyze and exploit the data gathered through this activity more quickly.
With their advanced technology and superior data, state-sponsored cybercriminals will present serious geopolitical obstacles. Furthermore, the spread of AI software on the black market would make it easier for inexperienced criminals to commit cybercrimes.
