Frisco Bowl 2024, Memphis vs. West Virginia

Postseason games are eagerly anticipated by college football fans, but even without them, football is still preferable to none at all.

With just one game scheduled in the Lone Star State on Tuesday night, the bowl season continues. A brief glance at the participating teams is provided below; one had a largely pleasant fall in 2024, while the other is now looking to the future while paying homage to its history.

In the bowl season, the top-ranked team looks to defeat strong conference opponents for the second time. The Mountaineers will be going through a leadership transition after an inconsistent Big 12 season, while the Tigers bounced back from an early loss to Navy to win six of their last seven games. After Neal Brown was fired, Chad Scott, the offensive coordinator, will coach WVU in the bowl game. QB Garrett Greene will at least have experience behind the controls, but he'll want to forget his most recent performance, in which Texas Tech won 52-15 thanks to an interception and a lost fumble. Waiting is another high-octane offensive. Under the leadership of quarterback Seth Henigan, running back Mario Anderson Jr., and wide receiver Roc Taylor, Memphis scores more than 35 points a game.

Everything about this points to a mismatch. Rich Rodriguez's impending return gives Morgantown some hope, but it will be challenging to create a competitive squad here with all the recent exits.
