Bain & Company has appointed three new American sector leaders

Bain & Company has appointed Kurt Grichel, Daniel Hong, and Mikaela Boyd as new industry leaders to lead their retail, CME, and financial services units in the Americas.

Three new industry leaders have joined Bain & Company. Kurt Grichel will lead the company's retail group in the Americas, Daniel Hong will lead its communications, media, and entertainment (CME) unit there, and Mikaela Boyd will lead its financial services practice there.

Grichel, a Seattle native, has worked for Bain for eighteen years, providing large-scale client advice in the grocery, mass, and specialty retail sectors. Grichel's new position will involve working closely with retail clients, managing the practice's staff and executive network, and supervising company development.

Over the past seven years, Bain's American retail group has almost doubled and now serves customers throughout North, Central, and South America. Hong holds a bachelor's degree in business economics from Brown University and an MBA from Harvard University.

Based in New York, Boyd has worked with the company for 17 years. Her area of expertise is supporting generative AI initiatives for clients in the payments sector. Boyd worked as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's associate program officer for US education before joining Bain. She graduated from Boston College with a bachelor's degree and Harvard University with an MBA.

Providing advice on strategy, customer experience, M&A, and large-scale transformation projects, Bain's global financial services practice has worked with all five multiline insurance companies and 95% of the top 15 global banks.
