Vedanta Aluminum helps clean energy and sustainable infrastructure by enabling rural change through the solar powered Roshan and Jyoti projects.
Vedanta Aluminium, the leading aluminum manufacturer, has announced two clean energy projects in India in the name of Project Roshan and Project Jyoti, providing community development and the improvement of rural infrastructure. Additionally, to improve security and mobility, supported by solar energy, home lighting is being installed in the nearby Lanjigarh villages.
Project Roshan built 310 solar energy streetlights, including 60 solar lights and 250 predictable units, to help more than 15,000 individuals in Kalahandi village. 91 units were installed in 21 public areas during the first phase. The project improved the lives of 5,000 people.
The main aim of Project Jyoti is to offer solar home lighting to households in rural communities with irregular electricity supplies. With plans to expand this project to eight other villages, Vedanta has successfully delivered solar home lights to 398 households in eight villages currently, with a goal of offering 1,500 solar home lights in total.
The CEO of Vedanta Alumina Business, Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya, stated that Project Jyoti and Project Roshan prove measurable success. Supporting the area's clean energy plan and using solar energy to light up villages. Bhattacharya also added that, in order to improve road safety, women's and children's safety, and to reduce the demand on the electrical grid, solar panels have changed communal life.
These projects also aim to start supportable infrastructure and clean energy in rural Kalahandi. Vedanta Lanjigarh plays a major part in the growth of Odisha through combining clean energy solutions with community growth, promoting the improvement of rural infrastructure, and focusing on community development that maintains a balance between business objectives and community security.
