Sungrow Advances Africa’s Energy Transition with Solar & Storage

Sungrow is transforming Africa’s energy landscape with innovative solar and storage solutions.

Sungrow is a world leader in PV inverters and energy storage systems and is helping Africa achieve dependable, reasonably priced, and sustainable energy. It is setting the standard for new solutions that increase grid stability, reduce energy costs, and expand access to clean energy. With its exhibition at the Solar & Storage Live Africa 2025 event, promotions were made on the latest technologies for enhancing grid stability in relation to energy costs and expansion access to sustainable power.

According to Ezzat Sankari, the Channel Business Director for MEA & CA, Sungrow is committed to supporting Africa’s burgeoning energy demand alongside sustaining energy security in the long run. Sungrow’s  PowerStack 200CS together with SG150CX String inverter is having a significant impact in Africa. These inverters have smooth transitions between grid and off-grid modes which help to stabilize frequency, lower peak demand, and optimize energy costs in mining, data centers, and ecotourism industries.

Sungrow designed the 516MWh energy storage system, which is expected to improve the reliability of the grid in South Africa. The company has also invested a lot in large-scale PV projects for Ghana and the mining industry of South Africa. It has also launched the AI-powered PowerTitan 2.0 energy storage system, helps minimize dependency on expensive fossil-fuel backup power during peak demand periods by redistributing stored solar and wind electricity.

Sungrow has ensured that its invention can endure varied climatic conditions such as extreme heat, dust, and humidity. The company provides customized energy solutions according to the demands of various market segments to satisfy their needs.
