Renewable Parts has inaugurated a wind turbine component refurbishment facility in Houston, Texas, USA, marking the Scottish company's inaugural overseas operations hub. Leveraging over ten years of experience in wind turbine parts refurbishment, Renewable Parts is extending its proficiency to Texas, renowned as the wind power capital of the USA, boasting more than 150 onshore wind farms with a combined installed capacity of 30 GW. In line with its established specialist refurbishment centers in Renfrew and Lochgilphead, Renewable Parts aims to create six job opportunities within the first year in the Lone Star State while showcasing a proven track record of aiding major global wind farm owners and operators and independent service providers in restoring turbine components to their original "as new" condition.
The company anticipates collaborating with wind operators not only in Texas but also across the USA, introducing pioneering solutions to one of the industry's fastest-growing and vital markets. Renewable Parts has enjoyed a longstanding collaboration with Scottish Renewables, Scotland's leading trade body for the renewable energy sector, and its members within the onshore wind sector for more than a decade. Claire Mack, Chief Executive of Scottish Renewables, commended Renewable Parts for its unique and innovative approach to wind turbine component recirculation, highlighting it as a significant success story within Scotland's renewable energy industry.
