Atlas will supply Codelco, the world's largest copper producer, with nearly 375 GWh/year for 15 years

Atlas Renewable Energy, an internationally recognized leader in renewable energy, has recently finalized a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Codelco, Chile's state-owned mining giant and the largest copper producer globally. The agreement entails the supply of 375 GWh of round-the-clock energy annually, sourced from a forthcoming renewable energy project in Chile equipped with an integrated battery energy storage system. This agreement, facilitated through a public tender conducted by Codelco, signifies Atlas's successful bid and commits the company to commence delivering clean energy in 2026 for a duration of 15 years. Atlas Renewable Energy's strategic initiative in Chile and the wider region is geared towards fortifying electricity supply stability and reliability.

The project, distinguished by its utilization of cutting-edge technology and solar energy proficiency, represents a milestone in energy supply contracts within Chile and its surroundings. In expressing the significance of the PPA with Codelco, Atlas Renewable Energy's CEO, Carlos Barrera, emphasizes the company's dedication to devising innovative energy solutions aligned with customer requirements. The agreement serves as a testament to Codelco's confidence in Atlas Renewable Energy, leveraging the latter's proven track record in delivering clean energy solutions to the mining sector. Noteworthy projects include the Javiera Solar Plant, operational since 2015 and supplying 161 GWh annually to a prominent Chilean mine, as well as the Lar do Sol Solar Plant, commissioned in 2023 and providing 540 GWh per year to Anglo American in Brazil.
