SIFANG DIGITAL ENERGY launches SST 1.0, a next-generation solid-state transformer designed to deliver efficient, reliable, and grid-friendly power solutions for AI data centers.

SIFANG DIGITAL ENERGY, a newly established subsidiary of the Chinese power system automation leader, SIFANG launched its SST 1.0 product, a next generation solid-state transformer aimed to satisfy the increasing power requirements of artificial intelligence data centers (AIDCs). The launch event held in Beijing under the theme "Smart, Reliable Power for AI” which also served as the formal inauguration for the new corporate entity, SIFANG DIGITAL ENERGY.

The SST 1.0 is engineered to address the intense power requirements of modern AI computing. The unit enables medium-voltage AC to directly power an 800V DC energy platform. By simplifying the power supply architecture, it offers a more efficient, controllable, and grid-friendly solution for DC loads.

According to Mr. Liu Zhichao, President of SIFANG, the digital economy's primary producing force is computational power, which presents new difficulties for power supply systems. He continued by saying that the SST 1.0 represents a significant advancement in resolving these issues and that SIFANG's extensive background in DC distribution and microgrids has established a solid technological basis for AIDC power solutions.

Mr. Wang Jikang, CMO of SIFANG DIGITAL ENERGY, described the product as a next-generation power solution for data centers. He explained that it enables medium-voltage AC to directly power an 800V DC energy platform, making DC load power supply simpler, more efficient, more controllable, and more compatible with the grid. He also confirmed that the SST 1.0 has already entered mass production and will continue to evolve in response to market needs.

Mr. Mei Hongming, CTO of the company explained that SIFANG is in a position to supply essential equipment for AIDC power scenarios, such as solid-state transformers, supercapacitor energy storage, medium-voltage cascaded energy storage, and multi-port SSTs, with its cumulative experience in DC distribution.

Following this, SIFANG DIGITAL ENERGY is considered as a new entity focused on advanced power electronics and DC distribution solutions for AI data centers and digital economy infrastructure. The on-site debut of the unit attracted significant attention from attendees during the event.
