IBM and Arm are developing dual architecture systems to help enterprises run AI and data heavy workloads securely and efficiently.

IBM has announced a strategic partnership with Arm to develop new dual architecture hardware that will enable enterprises to run future AI and data intensive workloads with greater flexibility, reliability and security.

The partnership is a reflection of IBM's larger initiative to fortify organizational infrastructure as AI transitions from experimental programs to essential business functions. According to IBM, businesses have been able to adopt emerging technologies at the scale necessary for mission critical situations due to its extensive experience in system design, which includes silicon, software and security.

The company highlighted recent developments like the Spyre Accelerator and the Telum II processor as examples of its efforts to integrate AI into everyday operations. The project is in line with IBM's long-standing strategy of predicting enterprise technology transformations ahead of market need, according to Tina Tarquinio, Chief Product Officer for IBM Z and LinuxONE.
