Mercedes Introduces AI-Powered S-Class with Bigger Grille and Smarter Tech

Mercedes-Benz unveils the 2026 S-Class globally, redefining luxury with AI-powered features, immersive digital displays, and next-generation driver-assistance technology.

The latest version of Mercedes-Benz's S-Class has been revealed, with updated digital features, new technology, and updated design features. Along with an improved interior and driver-assistance technologies, the car comes with a variety of engine options, such as a V8, six-cylinder, and plug-in hybrid.

The new S-Class's appearance has undergone multiple changes. With four horizontal bars and optional illumination for some models, the grille is now 20 percent larger than it was in the previous iteration. Some models include inbuilt light projectors that can project the Mercedes-Benz logo onto the ground, and the headlights have been overhauled with modern style. The AMG Line models have sharper bumpers and side skirts, while the S-Class has a two-part chrome and high-gloss black trim strip at the back. 20-inch wheel designs are now available, made using high-pressure casting to cut weight.

Digital connectivity drove the redesign of the S-Class interior. This emphasis is delivered with the MBUX Superscreen, which is a continuous display that encompasses driver, center and passenger screens. The MBUX Superscreen has navigation, entertainment, and productivity capabilities, but it also has generative AI incorporated into it to allow passengers to communicate naturally using their own words. Additionally, voice commands can be used to request complex information or directions, make adjustments to climate control settings and modify navigation routes or media playback.

The MBUX Superscreen provides audio streaming from Amazon Music, audiobooks from Audible, and video streaming from sources such as YouTube and sites such as Disney+. Dolby Atmos produces three-dimensional sound quality; enhancing the overall listening experience. The MBUX High-End Rear Seat Entertainment System provides touch operation, streaming of media, and the ability to make video calls. Both rear passenger areas provide additional legroom and workstations due to the reliability and adjustability of their chairs.

The S-Class has a variety of seating features, including heating, ventilation and massage programs; more than one stage of atmospheric filtration; and vents with touchscreens that allow independent regulation of temperature and airflow for each passenger.
