Avenue Supermarts' Q2 FY26 revenue jumped 15.4% year over year to ₹16,218.79 crore, its best second-quarter performance in four years, despite a 1.5% decline in its stock price on the BSE.
Even though Avenue Supermarts, the company that runs the DMart retail chain, released a positive Q2 business update, its shares dropped 1.5% to an intraday low of Rs 4,350 on the BSE on Monday. The business reported its highest second-quarter revenue in the last four years in September, with a 15.4% year-over-year increase in standalone revenue.
According to the retailer's Q2 FY26 business update, standalone revenue from operations was Rs 16,218.79 crore, up from Rs 14,050.32 crore during the same period last year. The company's statutory auditors will review the update in limited detail.
This latest figure highlights DMart's resilience in India's competitive retail market and continues its upward trajectory of quarterly sales growth. The company's reported revenue for the second quarter of FY22 was Rs 10,384.66 crore. In Q2 of FY23 that increased to Rs 12,307.72 crore and in Q2 of FY24, it reached Rs 14,050.32 crore. For the third year in a row, double-digit growth is anticipated in the September 2025 quarter.
Avenue Supermarts also stated that it had 432 DMart locations nationwide as of September 30, 2025. This figure includes its Sanpada store in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, which is currently closed to patrons while it undergoes reconstruction.
Its Board of Directors will convene on Saturday, October 11, to review and approve the unaudited standalone and consolidated financial results for the quarter and a half that ended on September 30, 2025, the company announced in a separate filing. The results will give a more thorough picture of the quarter's profitability, margins, and expenses than the business update's topline performance.
Avenue Supermarts' stock closed Friday's trading session flat on the BSE at Rs 4,417.55 with a negative bias.
