MICA Ahmedabad unveils School of Applied Creativity for July 2026 intake, combining AI, storytelling, and media to prepare future-ready creative leaders.

MICA previously established the School of Applied Creativity, India's independent school to equip students with future abilities at the intersection of imagination, narrative, media, and artificial intelligence. This innovative approach combines education, technology, and creativity. In the upcoming years, the institute plans to launch online masterclasses as well, making the course accessible to students worldwide as well as in India.

Ramkumar Ramamoorthy, partner at Catalincs and former CMD of Cognizant India, along with Tina Ambani, Chairperson of the MICA Foundation for Communications Research and Education, and Jaya Deshmukh, Director and CEO of MICA, officially announced the launch of the new school during a ceremony held in Mumbai on Thursday.

The close relationship between culture, communication, and marketing was something they were among the first to recognize. When digital was still in its infancy, they welcomed it. Long before the term "design thinking" became popular, they introduced it to business education. Today, they carry on that tradition by acknowledging imagination as the future's strategic currency and enhancing their goal of enabling people to lead creatively in the era of imagination.

The school's vision, according to MICA director Deshmukh, is founded on the premise that, although AI will make knowledge accessible to all, human creativity, imagination, and cultural intelligence are what will add value in the future. Although AI is expected to revolutionize several industries, there is currently a shortage of experts with AI training in India. This requirement is satisfied by the new school at MICA.
