IBM to open AI Software Lab in Lucknow, focusing on LLMs & SLMs to drive innovation, creates jobs, and support India’s digital transformation.
IBM, a US IT Company, announced on Tuesday that it would open a software lab in Lucknow dedicated to developing generative and agentic AI technologies.
One of IBM's biggest software development facilities, IBM India Software Labs, is essential to the creation of GenAI, data & AI, automation, cybersecurity, and sustainability solutions.
According to a statement from IBM, the lab will concentrate on creating AI-powered solutions that use LLMs and SLMs to meet the changing demands of companies in India and throughout the world.
Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, stated that the new software lab will be essential to the state's economic development by attracting local talent and creating jobs. It will hasten AI-driven innovation and applications that boost efficiency, productivity, and public services. They want to turn Lucknow into an AI city and make it a hub for developing talent, ideas, and an AI ecosystem.
Through the design, development, and delivery of software portfolios that assist clients in becoming AI-first enterprises that responsibly drive productivity at scale, IBM India Software Labs (ISL) is credited with making a significant contribution to IBM's software business. IBM Software Labs are currently located in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Gandhinagar, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kochi.
The lab will be located in the Platinum Mall in Sushant Golf City. Software engineers, application developers, technical testers, and UX designers are a few positions that the lab will provide.
