The Atto 3, eMax 7, and Seal are the three totally electric vehicles that BYD presently sells in India.

Though it has only been present in the commercial vehicle market in India until a few years ago, when the Chinese company entered the passenger car market, BYD is a highly well-known electric vehicle (EV) producer worldwide. With its robust in-house battery technology, BYD has ambitious intentions to grow its market share in India.

In India, the Chinese manufacturer has submitted patent applications for yet another electric vehicle, this time for its high-end Denza brand. This premium electric SUV, known as the Denza N9, debuted at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November of this year. The N9 is offered in a plug-in hybrid configuration in addition to its all-electric variant.

Even if submitting a patent application does not ensure a market debut, it does demonstrate that BYD is at least thinking about it for the Indian market down the road. Additionally, considering BYD's emphasis on EVs in India, if it is introduced here, it will probably be a wholly imported CBU that is entirely electric. Despite having a drastically different front end, the Denza N9 first looks like the Land Rover Discovery.
