In order to provide post-purchase assistance for its devices in India, Google intends to open three independently owned walk-in after-sales centers in India in association with F1 Info Solutions.

Declared on August 13, the US-based IT behemoth has decided to open its first walk-in centers in the nation on August 14 in Delhi and Bengaluru. Although it won't open at the same time as the ones in Bengaluru and Delhi, the third center is expected to be located in Mumbai.

Along with these advancements, Google has revealed a partnership with Reliance Digital and Croma to increase the retail availability of Pixel devices in India. Prior to this, Google has mostly depended on Flipkart, an online retailer, for Pixel availability and on outside suppliers like B2x and F1 Info Solutions for post-purchase assistance.

In order to create Pixel smartphones in India to fuel Google's operations growth, the tech giant has also been actively pursuing agreements with indigenous contract manufacturers. The made-in-India Pixel 8 was said to have started to roll off production lines on August 12. Google is presently only producing the Pixel 8 model in India, but it intends to increase local production to include the A-series, beginning with the Pixel 8a. Maggie Wei affirmed that the company may think about exporting units from India if it fits with their larger goals, but for the time being, local manufacture is meant for domestic availability to power Google India expansion.

Apple, Google's rival, has been rapidly growing its business in India in the meanwhile. A report published in the Business Standard claims that Apple shipped 85% of iPhones by production value (about Rs 40,145 crore) in April through July of FY25, exceeding its performance-linked incentive program target. In the same time frame, 79% of the company's iPhones were shipped out of the nation.
