Luxury jewelry brand, Bulgari decided to try building a concept car for the most recent Gran Turismo game, despite having been making jewelry and watches for 139 years.

Bulgari is an Italian luxury jewelry business that has been creating innovative designs since 1884 — roughly the same amount of time as vehicles. The business, which has been producing jewelry and timepieces for 139 years, has chosen to attempt creating a concept automobile for the most recent Gran Turismo game as a cooperative tie-in for a new "sporty" watch design.

This car, known as the Bulgari Aluminum, is a compact two-seat sport vehicle with a contemporary twist that is reminiscent of an Italian Carrozzeria "barchetta" from the late 1970s. This car's design was aided by the former Pininfarina design director.

Although Bulgari doesn't say exactly what it plans to power the machine, it is clearly a mid-engine design, and the advertising film has some excessively loud engine noises, implying that it isn't turbine or electric-powered.

Since Bulgari is tying in its new watch, also known as the Bulgari Aluminum, with the gauge cluster of the car, it is evident that the interior is where the brand intended to draw attention. With its lack of an information screen and straightforward knobs and buttons for operation, the interior design is reminiscent of the Lotus or Honda S2000.

The Bulgari Aluminum Gran Turismo watch is currently available, with a limited edition of 500 yellow faces and 1200 grey faces.
