Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu slams Jagan and criticised the YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy over his political approach and alleged attempts to weaken democratic institutions. Speaking at a meeting with Telugu Desam leaders at the state secretariat in Amaravati, Naidu said political leaders should work towards building institutions, improving governance and respecting legal systems.

The remarks came after TDP leaders informed Naidu that Jagan Reddy was planning to visit Srikakulam district jail to meet former minister and YSRCP leader Sidiri Appala Raju.

Naidu said leaders committed to institution building always operate within the framework of law. He alleged that some YSRCP leaders have shown disregard for legal procedures and questioned the message being sent to the public by extending support to individuals facing serious allegations.

During the meeting, Naidu highlighted his government's earlier efforts to improve policing through technology. He said approximately 15,000 CCTV cameras were installed across Andhra Pradesh between 2014 and 2019 to support crime prevention and investigation.

Naidu alleged that the surveillance system suffered due to poor maintenance during the previous YSRCP government between 2019 and 2024. He added that after returning to power, his government restored the network, helping police gather evidence and identify offenders.

Naidu also referred to the death of Pastor Praveen in a road accident, accusing YSRCP leaders of attempting to present the incident as a murder case to target the government.

He said CCTV footage and investigation evidence later clarified the facts of the case. Naidu alleged that opposition leaders tried to create unnecessary controversy before the evidence emerged.
