The Vodafone and Geely Technology Partnership has expanded to enhance connected vehicle technology with advanced IoT, cloud connectivity, and digital services, helping create smarter and more efficient vehicles across Europe.

Vodafone Business and Geely Technology Europe (GTEU) have expanded their partnership to accelerate connected vehicle innovation, bringing advanced internet, cloud, and networking capabilities to modern vehicles across Europe. Vodafone and Geely Technology partnership strengthens Geely’s ability to deliver smarter, software-driven vehicles while improving connectivity across its operations in Germany, Sweden, and its sales teams throughout Europe.

As vehicles become increasingly digital, the partnership focuses on three key technologies:

  • Internet in the Car

  • Cloud Connect

  • Mobile Private Networks

Together, these solutions help vehicles stay connected, receive updates remotely, and securely exchange data with cloud systems.

The Internet in the Car service enables features such as remote diagnostics and over-the-air software updates, allowing vehicles to continuously improve after leaving the showroom. Cloud Connect supports secure communication between vehicles and cloud platforms, helping Geely monitor performance and enhance the overall driving experience.

Cars Are Becoming Digital Platforms

GTEU plays a major role in developing vehicle architectures, intelligent systems, and digital platforms for the Geely Auto Group. These technologies support advanced features such as dynamic EV charging planning, 3D lane guidance, and integrated in-car internet services.

According to Giovanni Lanfranchi, CEO of Geely Technology Europe, modern vehicles have evolved far beyond basic transportation.

One practical example is Zeekr Navigation. Through secure, always-on connectivity, drivers can provide feedback directly from their vehicles. This allows engineering teams to identify issues faster, shorten development cycles, and roll out improvements more quickly.

How Will Connectivity Transform Future Vehicles

Vodafone Business believes digital connectivity will play a major role in improving electric vehicle safety, efficiency, and user experience. The company is providing Geely with a secure digital infrastructure designed to meet international cybersecurity, data protection, and regulatory requirements. This foundation also supports Geely’s continued expansion across Europe.

Vodafone’s Internet in the Car service combines its global Internet of Things (IoT) platform, which currently supports more than 240 million connections worldwide, with local internet providers to ensure reliable connectivity.

Industry forecasts suggest that by 2030, more than 98% of new passenger vehicles sold globally will be connected. As this shift accelerates, Vodafone Business and Geely Technology Europe are positioning themselves at the forefront of software-defined vehicles and intelligent mobility solutions.

Looking Ahead

As Business Fortune observes, connected vehicles become the industry standard, partnerships between automotive manufacturers and connectivity providers will be increasingly important. By combining advanced software, cloud technologies, and secure IoT infrastructure, Vodafone Business and Geely Technology Europe are helping shape a future where vehicles continue to improve long after they are purchased, delivering smarter, safer, and more personalized driving experiences.
