V-Guard Industries organized a multi-specialty health camp for rural communities, improving access to essential care, early diagnosis and preventive healthcare services.
V-Guard Industries Ltd., an Indian manufacturer of home appliances and electricals, organized a multi-specialty health camp in rural areas of Udham Singh Nagar district, Uttarakhand, in partnership with Sewa International. This camp is a part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in the healthcare sector especially helping the rural communities.
Over the course of eight days, this CSR initiative brings vital healthcare services closer to underserved communities. The camp offered medical consultations, basic diagnostic screens and necessary medications with the assistance of a group of more than 25 healthcare experts, including general practitioners, specialists, pharmacists and support workers.
Dr. Reenaa Mithun Chittilappilly, Director at V-Guard Industries Limited and V-Guard Foundation, highlighted that the lack of equitable healthcare access continues to be a pressing issue across rural India. She noted that V-Guard’s efforts are focused on narrowing this gap by improving access to medical services, encouraging early diagnosis, and supporting stronger local healthcare systems. According to her, initiatives like this are part of the company’s long-term commitment to making healthcare more inclusive and within reach for all.
The camp directly benefited 1,726 individuals, including 778 men and 948 women. V-Guard’s broader healthcare initiatives include ‘Cancer Shield,’ which offers free cancer screenings, ‘Edam,’ a counselling centre dedicated to women, and ‘Swastha,’ a program that provides free dialysis support to those in need.
In many rural areas, timely and affordable medical care remains out of reach due to social, financial, and awareness-related challenges. This health camp was designed to overcome those barriers by serving special care directly to underserved communities. Beyond providing treatment, the initiative placed equal emphasis on early detection and preventive care, helping build awareness and improve overall community health.
Through such interventions, V-Guard continues to strengthen healthcare systems while addressing immediate community needs. The initiative reflects the company’s ongoing focus on improving accessibility, promoting equity and bringing essential healthcare closer to everyday lives.
As Business Fortune observes, initiatives like these reflect how corporate social responsibility can move beyond intent to create measurable impact where it matters most and this is where true corporate impact begins.
