India’s NBEMS achieved Guinness recognition through a nationwide online training programme on Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare
Guinness World Records has officially acknowledged the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) for having the most viewers for a live YouTube video lecture on artificial intelligence in healthcare. 17,999 people watched the training program at its highest concurrent audience. A statewide online training program on artificial intelligence in healthcare, created especially for registered medical professionals nationwide, set the record.
The AI training project was developed by NBEMS under the direction of Dr. Abhijat Sheth, president of NBEMS and chairman of the National Medical Commission (NMC), to provide doctors with fundamental and practical knowledge of artificial intelligence. The programme consists of 20 modules presented over six months by renowned national and international teachers from Harvard University in the United States, IIM Lucknow, IISc Bengaluru, and other institutions. The NBEMS does not charge any fees from its participants.
NBEMS president Abhijat Sheth stated that this achievement is inspired by visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's, who has always emphasized digital India, technological innovation, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in governance and public service. This Guinness World Records accreditation is more than just a record, it demonstrates India's leadership in incorporating digital innovation into medical education, he said.
The Guinness World Records designation highlights the initiative's scope and reach. It demonstrates India's growing incorporation of technology into professional medical education and capacity building. Officials praised the achievement as a significant step toward developing digital transformation in the healthcare industry.
Dr. Rakesh Sharma, NBEMS governing body member, and Dr. AVS Suresh from Hyderabad, along with an NBEMS team, planned and executed the digital academic e-learning program of AI for medical professionals across the country in collaboration with various national and international AI experts.
