Elon Musk Predicts Robots Could Make Most Jobs Optional in Future

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has made a startling prediction about the nature of work in the future: most people may find employment to be optional in the upcoming decades. Speaking at the US-Saudi Investment Forum, Musk discussed how advances in robotics and artificial intelligence might change society and possibly do away with the need for traditional jobs.

According to Musk, he is unclear of the exact definition of long-term, possibly 10 to 20 years. Work will be optional. Musk compared future jobs to hobbies like video games or sports. Musk suggested that in a world where artificial intelligence and robots rule, money would become less important.
