Future robots may handle most employment, reduce worldwide struggle, change money rules, and lead to new social systems.
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has made a startling prediction about the nature of work in the future: most people may find employment to be optional in the upcoming decades. Speaking at the US-Saudi Investment Forum, Musk discussed how advances in robotics and artificial intelligence might change society and possibly do away with the need for traditional jobs.
According to Musk, he is unclear of the exact definition of long-term, possibly 10 to 20 years. Work will be optional. Musk compared future jobs to hobbies like video games or sports. People will have options. Also, work will be optional, although some individuals will continue to do it because they enjoy it. Musk suggested that in a world where artificial intelligence and robots rule, money would become less important. He gave examples that envisioned a culture in which advanced AI made traditional currency worthless.
The Tesla CEO stated he expects that money will someday become worthless if robotics and AI continue growing. He recognized that while physical resources like energy and raw materials will continue to set limits, money itself may become less essential to life for humans.
Elon Musk has been strongly in favor of the development of humanoid robots, especially Tesla's Optimus robot, also known as the Tesla Bot. He indicated during the forum that humanoid robots have the potential to be the biggest industry in history, exceeding even gadgets in terms of demand and influence. The worldwide elimination of poverty may be greatly helped by AI and humanoid robots. Furthermore, although Tesla will be in the lead, many other companies will likely create humanoid robots in the future. AI and humanoid robots will actually eliminate poverty.
