Gregor Van Issum has been appointed CFO of Wolfspeed, with effect from September 1.
With effect from September 1, Gregor Van Issum has been named CFO of Wolfspeed, a faltering SiC semiconductor business in the US. He takes over for Kevin Speirits, who is acting as temporary CFO and will stay on at Wolfspeed to help the business and make sure the transition goes smoothly.
Van Issum brings over two decades of experience in strategic finance and corporate restructuring within the tech sector. He has a thorough understanding of how to guide organizations through shifting business cycles by holding leadership positions at semiconductor manufacturers Ams Osram and NXP Semiconductors.
Van Issum's most recent position was that of group controller and executive vice president at Ams Osram, where he assisted in enhancing the financial performance of this €multibillion sales company. In addition, he oversaw Ams Osram's sales and cost-cutting projects while serving as the company's chief transformation and performance specialist.
According to Van Issum, his top goal in this new position will be to give Wolfspeed's investors clarity and transparency, particularly during this pivotal time. He will use his knowledge of intricate business cycles to assist in developing a financial structure that provides flexibility to react to quick changes in the market, building on recent efforts to reorganize Wolfspeed's balance sheet.
He added that he is qualified to assist Wolfspeed in achieving its strategic objective of boosting profitability because of his background in restructuring and transformation. It is a privilege for him to help guide Wolfspeed through this pivotal period in its growth as it uses its competitive advantages.
