Business Fortune: Sanskrit OTT Platform Launches in Bengaluru

With the launch of DigitalSanskrit.com, Vyoma Linguistic Labs combines AI and Indian Knowledge Systems to make learning Sanskrit accessible, enjoyable, and reasonably priced.

In a historic blend of technology and culture, the Vyoma Linguistic Labs Foundation launched www.digitalsanskrit.com, the world's first OTT-format Sanskrit learning platform, in Bengaluru on Sunday. The Lokārpaam event brought together academics, technologists, and educators committed to reviving Sanskrit and Indian knowledge systems (IKS) through digital means.

The platform brings ancient knowledge into the modern era by inviting users worldwide to learn Sanskrit in an enjoyable and cost-effective manner through its AI-enabled search, interactive video tutorials, podcasts, and other features.

The morning began with an inspiring panel discussion on "Democratizing Indian Knowledge Systems through Technology." On the respected panel were Sri Senapathy "Kris" Gopalakrishnan, a well-known patron of Indian heritage and co-founder of Infosys, and Prof. B. Mahadevan, a distinguished Sanskrit scholar and retired professor from IIM Bangalore. Smt. Vanisri Ragupati, a professor of Sanskrit and software architect, expertly guided the conversation.

The panelists discussed the pressing need to increase IKS's relevance and accessibility in the current digital era. The importance of combining traditional knowledge systems with modern technologies was emphasized, and the potential of large language models (LLMs) based on Indic wisdom was examined. According to Prof. Mahadevan, we need to make India's intellectual history accessible and understandable to everyone. The bridge is technology.

The platform's creator, Sri Kris Gopalakrishnan, praised the project as a groundbreaking endeavor that uses technology to both preserve and democratize our age-old knowledge. He praised the website for providing worldwide consumers with organized, reasonably priced, and enjoyable learning, saying that this is how we bring India's age-old knowledge to the world in a way that is genuinely approachable.
