Cleo Report: Supply Chain Visibility Is a Market Game-Changer

Real-time supply chain visibility and tech-driven agility are linked to mid-sized companies' superior stock market performance, according to Cleo's 2025 report.

Supply chain visibility entered a new era with the COVID-19 epidemic. Not in terms of what supply chain experts have historically looked for, but rather in terms of how crucial the supply chain is to the success of businesses.

Now that its significance has been established, it is easy to understand how it affects a company's financial performance.

Businesses that make investments in automation, operational agility, and real-time visibility are routinely beating their Wall Street counterparts, citing Cleo's 2025 Supply Chain Earnings Impact Report.

The study examined over 1,000 earnings calls from mid-sized companies listed on the Russell 2000 exchange between 2019 and 2025. It looked for important supply chain terms in the calls and examined the companies' stock values in the seven days before and after the call. The supply chain is at the heart of the split between market winners and underperformers, according to the research.

Companies that put resilience, technological integration, and data-driven decision-making first not only survived but also outperformed the market, according to the research.

According to Cleo's analysis, delays were highlighted by 46% of firms whose stocks fell the day after the results calls, and 37% of them said that delays had a significant impact on their performance. Backlogs were mentioned by 42% and visibility problems by 44% of those who saw stock drops.
