US tech giants sign AI chip and cloud deals with Saudi Arabia as Trump secures $600B in business agreements.
During a trip to Gulf States, U.S. President Donald Trump secured $600 billion in promises from Saudi Arabia to American businesses, while US tech firms revealed AI agreements in the Middle East on 13 May.
Nvidia announced that it would sell thousands of AI processors in Saudi Arabia as part of one of the largest agreements. Nvidia's latest "Blackwell" processors will be distributed in the first tranche to Humain, an artificial intelligence company newly established by Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund.
Qualcomm Inc. also announced an agreement with Humain, stating that it had signed a memorandum of understanding to design and construct a CPU for data centers. In 2021, the San Diego-based chip designer acquired server CPU Company Nuvia, even though it has not yet produced a product.
Trump signed a strategic economic pact with Saudi Arabia on Tuesday to kick off his Gulf tour, as the oil giant threw open the red carpet. Trump hopes to raise trillions of dollars in investments during his trip to the Middle East.
According to Nvidia and Humain, Saudi Arabia would become a global leader in AI, GPU cloud computing, and digital transformation by utilizing Nvidia's technology. The two businesses jointly declared that they will construct 500 megawatt AI factories over a five-year period, which would house hundreds of thousands of Nvidia's most cutting-edge GPUs.
