Alibaba Group and SAP have announced a strategic alliance to help companies use cloud computing and artificial intelligence to improve operations.
Alibaba Cloud will assist customers using SAP's cloud solutions as part of the partnership, having joined SAP's Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Certification Program.
The enterprise infrastructure of Alibaba Group will also incorporate SAP Cloud ERP Private. The collaboration intends to grow into Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa after first concentrating on the Chinese market.
Companies in these areas will be able to use Alibaba's infrastructure to access SAP Cloud ERP solutions, deploy SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP), and start their RISE with SAP and GROW with SAP initiatives. The goal of the two businesses' joint go-to-market strategy is to offer intelligent, scalable solutions that are suited to regional demands.
Alibaba Group plans to use a range of SAP technologies as part of this collaboration to improve internal processes and agility. Additionally, SAP is investigating how Alibaba's Qwen, a comprehensive language model, might be integrated with the SAP AI Core in China. This integration would allow corporate clients to take advantage of localized generative AI capabilities within SAP's applications and customized AI tools.
The company is currently evaluating the deployment of its SAP AI Foundation on Alibaba Cloud to deliver scalable AI resources to its clients in China.
