Greenwood High Students Donate 200+ Kg Food to Orphanage

A week-long food drive is organized by Greenwood High students to gather necessities for the Ruva Foundation as part of their CAS initiative.

Recently, a week-long food drive on campus at Sarjapur's Greenwood High International School was an expression of the students' concern for the less fortunate. The program involved the collecting of food and necessities to be donated to Ruva Foundation, a girls' orphanage in Bangalore. It was a drive organized in support of their CAS program, with the help of their CAS coordinator, in hopes of making a great contribution to the towns and communities.

Between grades 6-12, students made a proud effort for the food drive and put in more than 200 kg of grains, lentils, pulses, and other daily essentials. Students have gained a better insight into planning and organizing a community event by leading this project.

Speaking at the event, Niru Agarwal, Managing Trustee of Greenwood High International School, said that the institution is into charitable works for improving society and the community. Holistic education nurtures in students the importance of empathy and responsibility. Such programs render better knowledge for students on social issues and build up their leadership abilities by giving them fulfilling experiences of making contributions to society. The role of CAS is significant in the IBDP curriculum.

The Greenwood High School is still creating a culture of compassion and service orientation for students who will impact society. Encouragement of social responsibility among youth through active participation in continuous social outreach activities and disaster relief operations forms some of the programs designed for the school.
