CBD may alleviate some tinnitus symptoms, according to preliminary research, but a permanent solution is still elusive.
A continuous sound in the ears without an outside source is called tinnitus. Although there isn't a cure for tinnitus, there are steps patients may take to help control their symptoms. Although there isn't much data, the component cannabidiol (CBD) in cannabis may help with some tinnitus symptoms.
The majority of tinnitus therapies seek to lessen psychological discomfort and enhance quality of life. None of these address the underlying reason, which is frequently unknown, or lessen the volume of the tinnitus.
Complementary treatments that may help lessen symptoms are still being researched. One of these possible treatments is CBD, a substance found in cannabis.
Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and CBD are the two primary substances found in cannabis. Because THC is psychotropic, it causes the "high" that comes with using cannabis. Although CBD is not psychotropic, studies are being conducted to examine a number of possible applications in the treatment of nerve diseases, inflammation reduction, and pain management.
Tinnitus affects 10 to 25 percent of Americans, according to the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD). There isn't a complete cure, though, and therapy choices are limited. Research on the effects of CBD on tinnitus has produced conflicting findings.
