High-profile acts have greeted Coachella's return, but spectators are complaining about the festival's outrageous food and drink costs. Basic lunches reportedly cost more than $100, and some participants complained about the poor quality of the cuisine.
With performances by Lady Gaga, Benson Boone, Brian May, Charlie XCX, and surprise artists like Lorde and Billie Eilish, Coachella has returned in all its splendor and already delivered some incredible punches!
However, the Food & Beverage section is the one that is failing at one of the year's most renowned music festivals. According to Coachella attendees this year, what was supposed to be a romantic desert retreat with music and celebrity sightings has instead become an expensive wake-up call.
A social media influencer stated that she spent over $100 on her supper of tacos and lemonade on Friday, the first night of Coachella, which is referred to as "day zero" by regular participants. Ruth Viveros, who has been documenting her time in Coachella Valley since Friday, gave an inside look at the cuisine at the well-known music festival.
Despite paying $17 for the primarily iced beverage, Viveros gushed over the lemonade in her TikTok video, "Come have dinner with me at Coachella," which chronicled her culinary adventure. She acknowledged that she had spent $34 that day on the zesty beverage, which was her second cup.
A number of attendees provided more detailed breakdowns, stating that a single slice of pepperoni pizza costs $11, chicken tenders and fries costs $20, and a chicken slider combination costs $30. These prices are far more than what you could buy outside the festival gates.
