Amazon India Expands Market Access for Women with Disabilities

The female vendors will be able to display and market their goods online thanks to the Amazon Saheli initiative.

Amazon India is working with the Youth4Jobs Foundation, a group that supports young people with disabilities in their efforts to eradicate poverty in India. Supporting female sellers with impairments to use Amazon.in to expand their online businesses is the goal. It will allow brilliant women with disabilities to access broader market prospects through the Amazon Saheli initiative, enabling them to expand their businesses in the digital economy.

In order to increase the visibility and accessibility of locally produced goods by Indian women entrepreneurs and women-owned enterprises, the Amazon Saheli initiative was introduced in 2017. Through this collaboration, Amazon will help these female merchants with account management, onboarding, and workshops.

To assist them build a strong online business, they will get practical training in digital marketing, performance marketing, product listing optimization, and advertising solutions. Additionally, they will have access to useful metrics and data-driven insights that will help them comprehend important industry trends as well as client behavior and expectations.

As part of Amazon Saheli, Amazon collaborates with partners to promote digitalization and give women entrepreneurs the resources they need to succeed in their digital ventures. It currently has more than 60 partners, reaches over 16 lakh women entrepreneurs in both urban and rural areas, and offers thousands of items in 10 categories, including food, jewelry, clothing, and more. Over 80,000 female artists participate in and gain from this collaboration. To make a living, the craftspeople create and market these goods.
