Xenia® Debuts at JEC 2025 with Advanced Whitened Materials

For thermoplastic composites reinforced with carbon fiber, Xenia® offers a new Whitened Shade option that expands color customization and design options.

A material manufacturer with expertise in thermoplastic composite innovation and production, Xenia®, adds the Whitened Shade color option to its carbon fiber-reinforced grades. This new finish has a lighter base color than the natural black version, allowing for masterbatch coloring throughout the injection molding and pellet 3D printing processes.

Carbon-fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composites are highly valued materials utilized in consumer goods, industrial applications, and transportation due to their strength, durability, and low weight. However, when combined with thermoplastic matrices, carbon fiber's natural black color has traditionally limited its use in applications where design is critical.

Xenia has created a new method that creates carbon fiber-reinforced composites with a whitened base color in order to overcome this difficulty. The end product is a thermoplastic compound with superior mechanical qualities and a Whitened Shade hue that can be modified by adding masterbatch throughout the injection molding and pellet 3D printing processes.
