Currently, Kyndryl and Nokia collaborate to provide private 5G and LTE services, and they are growing their partnership to provide additional networking options for data centers.
By adding more of Nokia's data center networking devices to its catalog of integration services, Kyndryl is deepening its partnership with the company. Nokia offers optical data center interconnect technologies, a data center gateway to connect to cloud services, and data center switching for both traditional corporate and AI applications.
As part of the enlarged collaboration, Kyndryl's AI-powered Bridge infrastructure integration platform will incorporate Nokia's Event-Driven Automation (EDA) technology. An infrastructure automation platform called Nokia EDA provides tools for network provisioning, setup, optimization, and troubleshooting. According to Kyndryl, its Bridge services integrate automation, observability, and management tools. AI and machine learning are then used to evaluate the collected data and provide IT operations team the insight they need to maintain optimal system performance.
Furthermore, Nokia is creating quantum-safe technology for optical and IP networks to guarantee safe data transfer between data centers.
According to Paul Savill, global practice leader for network and edge computing at Kyndryl, the company is quite confident in providing its clients with Nokia's optical and quantum-safe technologies, especially with the latter's assistance given the persistent security concerns.
The needs of AI and other heavy application workloads are placing strain on data centers. Nokia's solution, according to Savill, could assist clients in better managing the quickly growing computing requirements and provide switching fabrics to help prepare their data center architecture.
Currently, Kyndryl and Nokia collaborate to provide edge, network, and device-management services in addition to private 5G and LTE deployments. Other data center connection services from partners including Cisco, Red Hat, Microsoft, Dell, HPE, and NetApp are also provided by Kyndryl.
Nokia has a few big data center partners as well. For instance, Nokia recently extended a multi-year contract to provide data center switches and routers to Microsoft Azure.
