Arooshi Singh, the Director of People Experience and Culture at Unacademy, an edtech firm financed by SoftBank, has been promoted to Head of Human Resource (HR).
Singh, who has over seven years of experience with the Bengaluru-based company, will now lead the human resources division. Gaurav Munjal, the CEO and co-founder, expressed his joy over Singh's elevation to the staff via Slack. Since joining Unacademy in 2017 as a specialist in employee engagement and health, Arooshi has overseen a number of HR initiatives.
At Unacademy, this is the third significant promotion of 2024. Jagnoor Singh was elevated to Unacademy Centers' Chief Operating Officer (COO) position in January; nevertheless, he departed the organization in July.
More recently, Moneycontrol learned that in September, the corporation promoted insider Abhishek Pipara to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for its offline centers division. Pratik Dalal, who joined Unacademy from CRED in January 2024, will be replaced by Pipara.
But there have also been a number of high-level leadership departures in the recent year, such as co-founder and chief technology officer Hemesh Singh in June 2024, group CFO Subramanian Ramachandran in October, and COO Vivek Sinha in August of last year.
Unacademy recorded revenues of Rs 988 crore for FY24, a 5% decrease from Rs 1,044 crore for FY23. It reduced losses from Rs 1,678 crore to Rs 631 crore, a 62% decrease. The last time it raised money was in August 2021, when it raised $440 million at a $3.44 billion valuation.
