Tata Motors Explores

Tata Motors is looking into prospects, including improved supply chain security. At the Tata Curvv.ev launch, Shailesh Chandra, MD of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., informed the media.

This comes following the announcement made last week by the Tata Group of the chip manufacturing factory in Assam. The largest producer of electric vehicles in the nation, Tata Motors, introduced Curvv.ev on August 7 with a starting price of Rs 17.49 lakh. There are two battery packs available for the EV: 45 kWh and 55 kWh. Tata Motors wants to upend the mid-SUV market with the launch of Curvv.ev.

Speaking about the reasoning for the price, Chandra explained that Curvv.ev was introduced with a mix of a longer-range vehicle that eliminates the need for infrastructure charging for interstate driving.

The manufacturer claims a single charge can cover 514 miles or 585 km using a 45 kWh or 55 kWh battery pack, depending. Chandra predicts that as time goes on, more items will be more affordable and have a wider range than ICE models. As more and more cars are introduced, battery costs decrease, localization lowers costs, etc. Eventually, Tata will be able to offer cars with greater capacity as well, so that will be the journey.

Regarding the reduction in customs duties on essential minerals like nickel and lithium, Chandra stated that the EV market would not be directly impacted. According to Chandra, he believed it was the EV industry's long-term course. For the cell maker, it was a statement of the kind of help the government is willing to provide. As of right now, cell production has not begun. These businesses will profit from it because it will follow the PLI (production linked incentive scheme) and ACC (advanced chemistry cell), and you have a ton of active projects.
