A definitive deal has been signed by Antenna Hungaria, a 4iG Group affiliate, to fully purchase PR-Telecom, a regional fixed-line telecommunications provider in Hungary that is owned by Hungarians.
With its own network infrastructure, PR-Telecom offers fixed voice, internet, and television services in about 200 settlements across ten counties. This acquisition solidifies 4iG Group's position as a major player in the Hungarian telecommunications market, allowing them to expand their reach and enhance their service offerings. With the addition of PR-Telecom's network infrastructure, the company is well-equipped to meet the growing demands of customers across the country.
The regional 3P telecoms company, which offers internet, television, and fixed phone services, is being bought out, and 4iG Group stated this month in an official statement that this will enable the company to grow its client base and fixed network coverage in Hungary.
The core network of PR-Telecom spans 1,000 kilometers, while the Fiber to Home network covers 670 kilometers, making a total network length of over 3,400 kilometers. The company presently provides high-quality services via its own fixed fiber and mixed fiber-coax infrastructure to 250,000 households and 55,000 clients.
The purchase is anticipated to finalize in Q4 2024, pending Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) clearance, according to the official release. Based in Budapest, Hungary, the 4iG Group is a Hungarian firm that is majority owned.
