Nigeria is seeking to reshape its defense industry by establishing closer ties with Türkiye as Defense Minister Gen Christopher Musa (Rtd.) emphasizes a need for a stronger, more independent and internationally competitive industry. Gen Musa spoke in Abuja at the 7th Nigeria-Türkiye Defense Industry Business Forum that there is a need to shift from procurement to local manufacture, transfer of technology, and research.

According to the minister, this move is backed by the DICON Act 2023 that forms the legal basis for such an endeavor through private sector involvement and investments alongside international manufacturers.
