Acko has appointed Nitin Khanna as its new Acko CMO, marking a significant leadership move after more than seven years of his contribution across senior marketing roles within the company. In October 2023, Khanna began his most recent role as vice president of marketing at Acko. Before then, he served as Director of Marketing from February 2019 to March 2021 and as Senior Director of Marketing from April 2021 to September 2023.
He has been a member of the marketing leadership team at Acko for a number of years and his promotion represents the next step in lengthy internal growth. Khanna is expected to play a key role in advancing the company's growth marketing initiatives, customer interaction and brand strategy in his capacity as chief marketing officer. He is based in Bengaluru and has played a significant role in the development of Acko's marketing approach as it improved its standing in the country's digital insurance sector.
Khanna worked in a variety of marketing positions at Ola for more than three years before joining Acko, including Associate Director of Marketing and Head of Category Marketing. He oversaw integrated campaigns across print, outdoor, internet, social, PR and BTL channels while leading consumer marketing for Ola Share and Ola Auto. He also supported growth, engagement and retention tactics while helping to scale Ola Share across more than 30 cities.
Additionally, he handled online display and affiliate marketing for important travel categories at MakeMyTrip. Previously, he worked as a consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, specializing in analytics and reporting solutions. His promotion to CMO adds a new chapter to a career that includes customer acquisition, category expansion, digital marketing and an analytics-based business approach.
