Microsoft, in collaboration with Accenture and Avanade, has introduced a new agentic factory intelligence system aimed at transforming manufacturing operations.
Microsoft, along with Accenture and Avanade, has introduced a new “agentic factory” intelligence system designed to reshape how modern manufacturing plants operate by bringing humans, machines, AI agents, and data into a single connected ecosystem.
The companies are developing the system in collaboration, with early validation coming from manufacturers Kruger and Nissha Metallizing Solutions. These early adopters are helping test the platform ahead of its expected general availability in 2026. The solution is also being showcased at Hannover Messe 2026.
Unlike traditional factory tools that rely mainly on dashboards and static analytics, the agentic factory introduces AI agents that actively support factory operations. These agents can check machine status, identify issues, and guide troubleshooting when production lines are not performing as expected. They analyze real-time conditions, past machine behavior, and production data to identify possible causes and suggest corrective actions. If needed, the system can also help create maintenance requests or order spare parts.
The platform is built on Accenture and Avanade’s Factory Agents and Analytics offering and runs on Microsoft technologies such as Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Foundry, and Microsoft Copilot. It is delivered through a subscription model, allowing companies to start with smaller deployments and expand as they see results.
A key feature of the system is its ability to combine structured data from manufacturing systems and machine sensors with unstructured information like maintenance logs, operator manuals, and failure reports. Using Microsoft Fabric as the data foundation and Foundry for reasoning, the AI agents provide context-aware guidance directly on the factory floor through conversational interfaces.
Microsoft says the goal is to help manufacturers move from simply observing data to acting on it in real time. Dayan Rodriguez, Corporate Vice President, Manufacturing and Mobility Industry at Microsoft said, “Agentic AI is the next step for manufacturers to turn data into outcomes.”
With this move, Microsoft with Accenture and Avanade is intending a clear shift toward smarter, AI-driven manufacturing ecosystems where decisions happen faster and operations become more connected. For Business Fortune, this development marks another step in how enterprise AI is quietly reshaping the backbone of modern industry, one factory at a time.
