Hitachi Digital Services launches a new management platform to help manufacturers improve operations, integrate IT and OT systems, and adapt to evolving Industry demands.
Hitachi Digital Services introduces a new Manufacturing Operations Management platform (MOM) that will improve the integration of information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) systems for industrial clients. Through more intelligent automation and flexible production settings, the platform is intended to help manufacturers in addressing new Industry 5.0 concerns related to scalability, supply chain integration, and technology adoption.
The MOM platform's open, modular integration architecture guarantees compatibility with a variety of OT and product lifecycle management systems. It also allows wider applicability in a variety of asset-heavy industries, including manufacturing, transportation, energy, and high technology.
According to Roger Lvin, CEO of Hitachi Digital Services, Industry 5.0 challenges will only be resolved by smarter automation and more agile production environments. By fully realizing this, they are adding advanced MOM capabilities to an already formidable tech portfolio. The resulting physical AI solutions will function as the most innovative cross-industry smart manufacturing and asset operations systems available today, strengthening Hitachi's capacity for mission-critical manufacturing operations while establishing the groundwork for digital manufacturing excellence.
Hitachi's proven MOM platform, which has been refined across more than 100 mission-critical manufacturing sites, is now designed to power multiple Hitachi Group plants using a "Customer Zero" strategy. Its application is expected to accelerate the shift to sustainable operations by increasing productivity through human-machine collaboration.
Hitachi's attempts to develop the MOM platform into an even more effective offering inside HMAX by Hitachi, a portfolio of next-generation solutions that harnesses massive amounts of data from digital and physical assets to apply the power of AI to social infrastructure, will be supported by the following value-creation cycle.
