Initiative provides training, technical support, and market linkages to help rural women build sustainable dairy businesses and improve household incomes.

Empowering Women through Dairy Entrepreneurship is a project that the KP Singh Foundation (KPSF) and the ISAP India Foundation started at Jaat Bhawan, Karnal. The project intends to provide 500 rural women in the districts of Kurukshetra and Karnal with the entrepreneurial support and knowledge needed to turn traditional dairy operations into profitable and sustainable enterprises.

Representatives from Escorts Kubota Limited, the Center of Excellence for Dairy Skills in India (CEDSI), the National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Farmer Producer Organizations and a lead group of female beneficiaries attended the launch program. Speaking at the happening, Gaurav Vats COO of ISAP India Foundation highlighted the critical role that women play in the dairy industry and stressed the need for market connections and skill development to increase revenue opportunities.

Dr. Ramesh Rawal, a livestock expert, provided helpful advice during the technical session on the selection of high-productivity animals, genetic improvement and appropriate feeding and nutrition. He pointed out that feed accounts for around sixty percent of the cost of milk production. Ms. Aarzoo and Dr. Raman Malik, two representatives from CEDSI and NDRI highlighted the training opportunities in scientific dairy management, feed preparation and value addition to help women create successful dairy enterprises.

They see women's economic empowerment as much more than an income story, stated Mr. Venu Nair, CEO of the KP Singh Foundation, reflecting the Foundation's inspiration from Mr. KP Singh's mission of increasing opportunities and unlocking potential. Improved nutrition, better child education, stronger health-based behavior and general family well being are all benefits that are felt around the household when women have agency, work independently and participate in economic decisions.

The purpose of this effort is to enable women to become more powerful individuals in defining the destiny of their families and communities. The initiative seeks to enhance women's empowerment income and promote sustainable rural development in Haryana through enterprise creation, technical assistance, and capacity building.

Thus, Business Fortune is of the view that this initiative marks a meaningful step toward strengthening rural economies by empowering women to transform traditional dairy practices into sustainable and profitable enterprises.
